Rev. Lois McCullen Parr

Our appointed United Methodist Pastor is Reverend Lois McCullen Parr, who began at Broadway in August, 2009. Lois is a second-career pastor whose background includes working as a writer in government, politics, and the arts; community activism in peace and justice; and lay ministry on the campus of Miami University of Ohio. Lois and her family moved to ChicagoLand so she could earn the Master of Divinity at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. Lois has served in Chicago (Holy Covenant, in Lincoln Park; Epworth, in Edgewater); in Naperville (Grace UMC, as Associate); and in Northbrook (North Northfield) prior to her appointment at Broadway. She has a passion for people to know that they are God’s children: her favorite Bible verse is from Romans 8, “nothing in all creation can separate us from the love of God.”

Lois is married to Clayton, and they are parents to Nate and Cullen. She loves to read, to write, to eat, and to sing.
